Group Influencing Tactics: Throughout
2005/6 Mike has been surveying and building our knowledge
about specific tactics and strategies that individuals use
whilst working in groups. This is now ready to be presented.
If you are responsible for bringing people together for networking
events and have a free slot for a presenter, MIke would be
interested to hear from you and may be willing to present
some of this material. If you want to find out more, please
contact Mike with
some details about the group that you run.
Influencing Styles: In 2006, during
the development of our IPQ diagnostic we accumulated a great
deal of analysis about how people prefer to influence. This
was predominately based on the UK management population. This
initial results are in the process of being written up. If
you would like to extend this We are very interested in talking
to anyone who can help us to extend this research, particularly
in the US, Canada and Spain. Please contact
us if you think you can help.
Political Tactics: In 2003/4 we conducted
field based research on the tactics that individuals in large
organisations use to effect influence. This resulted in our
catalogue of Games, Rackets and Dirty Tricks, some of which
were published in 2005 in our first book, "21
Dirty Tricks at Work" from Capstone Wiley. The full catalogue
of over 70 are made available to our clients.
In Search of Power: In 2000, MIke
Phipps conducted some unique research about where people get
their power from. Here are the results.
- The Background
- How our ground-breaking survey on Power came about, it's
intentions and how it was conducted.
- The
Initial Results - Where do people get their power from.
The scores on the doors for the different sources of power.
- The
Analysis - Some interesting observations arising from
the data and the qualititive feedback.
- The
Conclusions - When all is said and done, what does it
all mean to those of us who wish to survive and thrive in
the workplace today
Given that our specialist work relies on
up to date research and practical know-how, we would love
to hear from anybody who would like to make a contribution.
Please contact
us with your ideas and thoughts.
