IPQ Case Studies
Here are just a few examples of how the IPQ is being used by
professionals to deliver great learning interventions.
Fun on the big scale
"Just wanted to let you know how well the IPQ worked
for a large group. There were over 25 in the group, all of whom
had completed the IPQ before the event. I held back their reports
until the day so I could introduce it properly. I took them through
all of the usual exercises to start off, and they we got into style
spotting. They had such a great time working out who preferred which
style. Naturally some people were renowned for their lack of tact
and diplomacy! The session had to close after 2 hours but what was
incredible, was that as soon as the course was over, they got into
huddles discussing more about their reports! Fantastic."
Cultural Differences
"My client asked me to work on helping his team
to appreciate their cultural differences. I decided to use the IPQ
because it could highlight these differences whilst also getting
some traction on them becoming more influential, both as individuals
and as a group. Suffice to say it worked extremely well and I've
been invited back to do a follow-up in more detail."
360° Feedback
"While coaching several senior directors I had
the problem that they were denying the 360° feedback they had
been given. I decided to use the IPQ to help to unblock their resistance,
and I must say, the result exceeded my expectations. The IPQ replicated
their feedback yet was generated with only their answers. Frankly
they had nowhere else to go but to accept that they needed to work
on their behaviour towards others!."
Warm Up Idea
"Thought I'd let you know that I did something
a little different at the start of my last IPQ session. I had a
group of 12, none of whom knew each other very well. To help them
to get their minds around the different dimensions, instead of merely
talking them through each, I thought it would be fun to give them
the handout describing the behaviours - then I asked them to position
themselves along the back wall based on where they thought they
would score. Not only did this help them to understand the dimensions,
it also helped them to get to know each other better - they also
had quite a few laughs too!"
