The Executive
the situation - one of the largest Financial
Services corporations in the world about to embark on a period of substantial
change to synergise the silos throughout the Asia Pacific region.
the audience - executive responsible for
Management Services across Asia sitting on the regional executive board.
the brief - since being newly promoted
it was felt that she needed to work on her ability to influence her long
serving colleagues who were deeply entrenched in the status-quo.
the solution - over a period of three months
we used The Mentoring Intervention
to help her to learn how to influence the board members and the wider
organisation to accept a new cross Asia procurement strategy. This was
delivered over the telephone and through our website facilities.
the outcome - before the intervention ended,
she overcame stiff opposition and reported that all board members had
accepted her proposals and had signed off the new strategy which would
bring annual savings in excess of AUD$20m. In addition she believes that
our work together has been instrumental in helping her to establish herself
assertively in the new role and earn the respect of her more experienced
colleagues.
